Goodyear Animal Hospital and Grooming - Goodyear

The Goodyear Animal Hospital team consists of six Veterinarians, a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager, Certified Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, and support staff that all have you and your pets needs as our priorities. Our Veterinarians are licensed to practice in Arizona and have a combined 35 years of experience, ensuring your pet will benefit from our experience, education, and up to date veterinary care and medicine. Having six doctors on staff allows us to discuss cases and share our knowledge on a daily basis. We also are able to be fully staffed 7 days a week, so we can see you and your pet when it best fits your schedule and needs. Our staff also focuses on communication, and we have monthly meetings to ensure we are offering the best care to every client and pet. Focusing on communication allows us to meet our vision of providing compassionate, preventive, and quality medical and surgical veterinary care. All of our staff completes 60 hours or more of continuing education every year to help you make the best health care decisions for your pet. And all of our staff members are pet owners, so we understand the importance of pets in your life.

Dr. Amy Schomburg

I was born and raised in LaCrosse Wisconsin and graduated with a BS in Zoology (1991) and DVM (1995) from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. GO BADGERS! I practiced small animal medicine in Seattle Washington and Bozeman Montana prior to moving to the Phoenix area where I helped open Goodyear Animal Hospital in August 2004. We have since grown into a thriving 9 doctor practice that has experience in all facets of small animal medicine and surgery. My special interests include internal medicine, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, dentistry, feline medicine and senior animal care. My family (husband and 2 kids) is active in swimming and art. I love to read, run with Pumpkin, hang out with my kids and cheer them on during their activities. To round out our family, we have 3 dogs (Doodles, Jake & Pumpkin) and 5 cats. I look forward to meeting you and your family!

Dr. Rebecca Johnson

I hail from Rochester, NY by way of Texas (B.A., Rice University) and Massachusetts (DVM, Tufts University). I joined Arizona Pet Vet in 2007 following graduation, and live in Phoenix with my husband, two children, and a rescue cat and dog. I enjoy many aspects of companion and exotic medicine, and surgery, including a special interest in helping clients manage the comfort of aging pets. In my free time, I volunteer with rescue organizations, practice yoga, and enjoy baking, reading, and spending time with family.

Dr. Jenna Lanagan

I have lived in Arizona essentially my entire life. I grew up in Pinetop, Arizona a small town in the White Mountains. I received my Bachelor of Science from the University of Arizona (Bear Down!). I completed veterinary school at Ross University on the island of St. Kitts, and my clinical year at Texas A&M (Gig’em Aggies!). After completing my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree I made my journey back home to beautiful Arizona. My professional interests include radiology and ultrasound. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, swimming, spending time with my niece, traveling, and adventures with the newest addition to my life my dog, Kiara!

Dr. Kelsey Ledbetter

I was and raised in Peoria, Arizona – in fact, I am a member of one of Arizona’s Founding Families – my ancestors moved West before Arizona was a recognized state. I started working as a Kennel Tech in high school, and shadowed a number of vets during my time in college to learn as I worked. I did my undergraduate degree at University of Arizona, graduating in 2013. I attended Veterinary school at Oklahoma State, graduating as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. My areas of specific interest are Dentistry and Chiropractic for animals. My husband and I have two horses, Mandy and Splash, and two dogs, Pixie and Roux. My hobbies are horses, horses, horses! I regularly compete in the three-day events, which are the triathlons of the equine world. They’re challenging and lots of fun. As a new member of the AZPetVet family, I’m looking forward to getting to know our pet patients. See you at Goodyear!

Dr. Amy Jager

I’m a typical hockey loving Canadian hailing from a small town near Toronto, Ontario. Go Leafs! I worked as a Vet Tech at a clinic before going to Veterinary school at Ross University. I did my clinical year at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Today, I’m a part of the AZPetVet family in sunny Arizona, which is definitely a change from the cooler climate of Canada! My particular areas of interest working with companion animals include preventive medicine, surgery, and dentistry. I live with my husband and our two dogs, Zeke and Summer. Summer is a German Shepherd, and Zeke is a rescue from the island of St. Kitts and Nevis. They definitely keep us active! We enjoy hiking and exploring all the beauty Arizona has to offer - we’re always finding new fa-vorite spots on our journeys. I also love to go horseback riding - specifically dressage - as well as playing sports like Ultimate Frisbee and softball. I’m excited to join the team, and I’m looking forward to meeting you and your furry family very soon!

Dr. Natalie Reeser

I was born and raised in Florida until moving cross-country to Arizona for veterinary school. I graduated from the University of Central Florida (Orlando, FL) in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. I then earned my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Midwestern University (Glendale, AZ) in 2019. I have been in the field since age 16, starting out as a veterinary assistant. My professional interests include dermatology/allergies, soft tissue surgery, preventative medicine, and feline medicine. In my downtime, I enjoy painting, reading, cheering on my favorite sports teams, baking, and traveling to new places. I also love to snow ski whenever I get the chance in northern Arizona, Colorado, or Utah. I spend my time outside of the hospital with my significant other, a fellow veterinarian in Phoenix, and my pets. I have a Siamese cat named Gibbon, a tabby with extra toes named Copper, and a Newfoundland named Jett. I look forward to meeting you and your companions at Goodyear.

Dr. Jason Kingstad

I was born in Northern Wisconsin but raised in the Grand Cayman Islands! I went back to Northern Wisconsin for my undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin Madison (Go Badgers!!). For my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree, I attended St. Matthew’s University and made my way to Arizona shortly after graduating. While in vet school, I gained lots of experience with wild animals and marine species, completing some related work in Nicaragua and Honduras. My veterinary interests include soft tissue and orthopedic surgery and dentistry. When I am outside of the clinic, I enjoy camping, kiteboarding, reading, fishing, and traveling. While I currently don’t own any pets, I am looking forward to adopting one in the near future. I’m excited to have the opportunity to care for your furry family members!

Dr. Tyler Elliott

I was raised in two very small towns in California and Nevada, moving between my family’s cattle ranches every six months until I moved away for college. I attended the University of Nevada Reno where I received a B.S. in Animal Science, followed by attending Washington State University for veterinary school. Following veterinary school, I was able to complete two rotational year-long internships in equine medicine; the first in Bonsall, California, and the second at Kansas State University. My interests include soft tissue surgery, internal medicine, and pain management. Currently, I don’t have any animals here in Phoenix, but I do have a horse, Apache, who is enjoying his best life back in Nevada/California with the rest of the family herd. Outside of work I enjoy hitting the gym, practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, traveling with my wife, fishing, and helping with ranch work when I can get back home.

Dr. Gwendolyn Vasquez

I grew up in Providence, RI and although AZ is my new home, the Ocean State will always have my heart. I received my B.S. in Biology (2015) and Master’s in Public Affairs (2018) from Merrimack College (Go Warriors!) in North Andover, MA. I recently graduated with my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Midwestern University here in Glendale, AZ. My love for this field was solidified at 16 when I began volunteering at a local shelter. I continued to work as a technician at a few veterinary hospitals throughout undergrad, graduate school, and veterinary school. My professional interests include ultrasound, surgery, dermatology, and exotics. In my free time, I like to go hiking all around this beautiful state, read crime and mystery novels, cook, and watch sports – baseball, soccer, and hockey. I have 3 family dogs back in RI that I miss a lot, but my mom sends me pictures of them all the time. I don’t have any pets here just yet, but I plan on adopting one in the near future. As a new member of the AZPetVet Family, I am excited to provide the upmost care for your pets and create a strong and lasting relationship with you!
