Phoenix Fun with your Dog!

Jun 12, 2015 | For Your Pet, Uncategorized

Things to Do BlogThis summer, you and your family may be lucky enough to be planning a “beat the heat” getaway and you may be taking your pup with you to the cooler climates.  But for those staying here, there are plenty of fun activities to participate in AND still include you furry friends. Often we find ourselves trying to plan activities around our pets with thoughts like, “Okay, we can go here, but we have to be back by this time to feed the dogs” or “Let’s go here, but we need to make sure we have enough time to get back home and let the dogs out.”  Well, AZPetVet has found some fun activities that you can do this summer and don’t have to worry about leaving your pups home…take them with you for the fun!

In our last blog, we talked about the Bark at the Park event that was held by the Arizona Diamondbacks.  If you missed that event, don’t worry!  There are many more events for you to participate in with your pup while you are out and about enjoying the Phoenix area.  There is a really cool article from Well Minded Pets, that talks about all the pet friendly places around the Valley…here are a few ideas:

  • Hike South Mountain Park/Preserve
  • Visit Uncle Bear’s Brewhouse Grill
  • Enjoy a treat at Sprinkles Cupcakes
  • Indulge in a glass of wine at Duck and Decanter
  • Swim, run, and exercise at Cosmo Dog Park
  • Explore The Farm at South Mountain

For more details about these activities, you can check out the article here… http://www.wellmindedpets.com/blog/2014/8/6/things-to-do-in-phoenix-with-your-dog.

If you look closely, a lot of these activities include some time outside.  Always remember to bring yourself and your pup water if you aren’t going to be somewhere that provides it.  The summer heat can easily sneak up on you, so remember to maintain appropriate hydration and shade as well!  Wishing you a fun, cool, summer from your friends at AZPetVet!
